Six More Records Set as Milligan Remains in Front

KINGSPORT, Tenn. - Six more records were set at the 2024 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships as Milligan continues to hold on to the lead in both the men's and women's championships.

The three-day event is being held in Kingsport, Tenn. at the Kingsport Aquatic Center in the HMG Competition Pool.

Of the 14 races competed on Thursday, Milligan won 12 of them.

On the men's side, Milligan leads with 708 points with Union in second with 401. WVU Tech (298), Columbia (106), and Pikeville (45) round out the field.

Milligan leads the women's field with 638 points with Brenau in second with 314 and Union third at 310. Columbia (198), WVU Tech (163), and Pikeville (17) round out the field.

Six records were set on the day. They are:

  • Women's 200 Freestyle Relay - Milligan (Liz Mahan, Mary Grace Bitting, Gabby MacPherson, Hanne te Velthuis), 1:37.06
  • Men's 200 Freestyle Relay - Milligan (Paxton Smith, Andre Bazzana, Caleb Fry, Stephen Gilbert), 1:22.71
  • Women's 100 Butterfly - Gabby MacPherson (Milligan), 57.62
  • Men's 100 Butterfly - Hudson Trammell (Milligan), 48.66
  • Women's 400 Medley Relay - Milligan (Tyler Cates, Kaylee Williams, Gabby MacPherson, Hanne te Velthuis), 3:55.24
  • Men's 400 Medley Relay - Milligan (Paxton Smith, Caleb Fry, Hudson Trammell, Stephen Gilbert), 3:24.29
