Milligan Places Fifth at NAIA Men's Swimming Championships

COLUMBUS, Ga. - Milligan led the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) contigent at the NAIA Men's Swimming & Diving Championship Meet as the Buffaloes finished fifth overall.

Milligan tallied 337 total points to land fifth overall, while Point finished 15th (12 points), WVU Tech 16th (9 points) and Union 21st (2 points).

Stephen Gilbert of Milligan recorded the best individiual finish of any men's swimmer from the AAC. He placed second in the 400 individual medley with a time of 3:56.24.

In all, nine individuals collected a total of 27 NAIA All-American honors. The All-Americans are:

  • Gilbert - 200 medley relay (fourth); 400 individual medley (second); 200 butterfly (fourth); 800 free relay (fourth); 400 medley relay (fifth); 400 free relay (fifth)
  • Andre Bazzana, Milligan - 200 medley relay (fourth); 200 butterfly (seventh); 800 free relay (fourth); 200 free relay (third); 400 free relay (fifth)
  • RJ Brumit, Milligan - 200 medley relay (fourth); 400 medley relay (fifth)
  • Caleb Fry, Milligan - 50 free (third); 200 medley relay (fourth); 100 breaststroke (fourth); 200 breaststroke (fourth); 200 free relay (third); 400 free relay (fifth)
  • Peter Gilbert, Milligan - 500 free (sixth); 400 individual medley (eighth); 800 free relay (fourth); 1650 free (sixth)
  • Ben Hawkins, Milligan - 200 breaststroke (eighth)
  • Ethan McCosh, Milligan - 400 medley relay (fifth)
  • Jacob Milligan, Milligan - 1650 free (eighth)
  • Yurri Prokopchuk, Point - 100 breaststroke (seventh)
