Four Records Fall on First Day of AAC Swimming Championship Meet
KINGSPORT, Tenn. - Four records fell on the first day of the 2022 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championship Meet on Thursday at the Kingsport Aquatic Center in the HMG Competition Pool.
Milligan leads both the men's and women's team competitions as the Buffaloes tallied a total of eight wins in the 10 events.
In the men's field, Milligan leads with 251 points, Union is second with 139, and Point is third at 134. WVU Tech and St. Andrews round out the field with 128 and 18 points, respectively.
Milligan leads the women's field with 241 points, while Brenau is second at 163. WVU Tech is third at 128, Union is fourth at 82, and Columbia is fifth at 34. St. Andrews and Point round out the field with 25 and 21 points, respectively.
The records that fell were in:
- Men's 500 free - Andre Bazzana, Milligan, 4:38.56 (4:40.25 - previous record);
- Men's 50 free - Donat Fabian, WVU Tech, 20.54 (20.93 - previous record);
- Women's 800 free relay - Milligan, 7:44.31 (7:50.43 - previous record);
- Men's 800 free relay - Milligan, 6:53.11 (6:58.37 - previous record).
