Top Seeds Advance to Men's Soccer Semifinal Round

WALESKA, Ga. - While there was some drama, the top four seeds all advanced to the 2024 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Soccer Tournament semifinal round.

No. 2 Milligan pulled out a 1-0 win over No. 7 St. Andrews thanks to a Marco Lattanzi goal in the ninth minute. Adria Alles tallied four saves in the shutout win.

No. 4 Truett McConnell and No. 5 Columbia International played to a 1-1, double-overtime draw as both teams collected goals in the second half. The Bears, though, advanced to the next round by winning the penalty shootout 4-3.

Despite falling behind early on, No. 3 Bryan rallied for a 4-2 win over No. 6 Tennessee Wesleyan. Cesar Castro registered two goals and an assist in the win, while teammate David Gomez added a pair of goals of his own.

Top-seeded Union Commonwealth roared past No. 8 Johnson, winning 5-0. Callum Edwards collected the game-winner in the 34th minute as the Bulldogs tallied four second-half goals. Five different players scored for Union, and Callum Longworth had two assists.

The semifinal round is set for Tuesday, Nov. 5.
