Columbia Names Koon Interim Head Men's Soccer Coach

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Director of Athletics Glen Crawford has named assistant coach Logan Koon as the interim Head Men's Soccer Coach, the school announced this week.
"As we get closer to the season, I'm ready and excited to get started and help our student-athletes succeed on the field and in the classroom," Coach Koon said.
Koon, a native of Batesburg-Leesville, SC was the Varsity Boys Soccer Head Coach at Batesburg-Leesville HS since 2023 where he won SC Region Coach of the Year in his first year at BLHS.
Coach Koon also served as the BLHS Varsity boys soccer team's assistant coach in previous seasons and had a huge role in the team's success. Coach Koon is a 2019 graduate of Batesburg-Leesville High School where he played soccer and basketball.
He graduated from Lander University in December of 2022 with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in Sports Management.
Logan was a 6'5 defender on the men's soccer team at Lander as well.
The Koala men open their season with a home exhibition game against USC-Salk on August 20 at 6 PM from Younts Stadium. They then go on the road to begin their season on August 23 at Spartanburg Methodist College.
