Last-Second Goal Sends TWU to Next Round

MISHAWAKA, Ind. - A late goal sent Tennessee Wesleyan to the next round of NAIA Men's Soccer Opening Round as it edged Aquinas (Mich.) 4-3 in double-overtime.

The opening round is being held in Mishawaka, Ind., and hosted by Bethel.

Tennessee Wesleyan led 2-1 at the half, but Aquinas collected a pair of goals from Andrea Ghiggini in the 64th and 72nd minutes. However, Kuda Nhiwatiwa responded quickly as Aquinas' lead lasted only 17 seconds with Nhiwatiwa netting the equalizer in the 73rd minute.

It remained 3-all through the first overtime period and much of the second extended period. But Dylan Connell found the back of the net with 18 seconds remaining to give Tennessee Wesleyan the 4-3 victory.
