Top Four Seeds Advance to Men's Soccer Tournament Semifinal Round

WALESKA, Ga. - The top four seeds all advanced in the 2023 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Soccer Tournament on Friday, but it was anything but easy.

There were three shutouts on the day as well as three one-goal contests.

No. 3 seed Tennessee Wesleyan started the day with a 1-0 win over sixth-seeded Columbia International. Logan Haricombe scored in the 84th minute to secure the win for the Bulldogs.

Fourth-seeded St. Andrews used three second-half goals to propel it past No. 5 seed Truett McConnell 4-0.

Needing overtime, top-seeded Milligan got a goal from Jett Carter in the 106th minute to hold off No. 8 seed Reinhardt 1-0. Inaki Moreno registered his 30th assist of the season in the match.

Seventh-seeded Bryan took an early 1-0 lead in the fifth minute. However, No. 2 seed Union came back to score the next two goals for the 2-1 victory. Patrick Taylor deposited the game-winner in the 77th minute.

The semifinal round is set for Tuesday, Nov. 7, with Milligan hosting St. Andrews and Union welcoming Tennessee Wesleyan. Game times have yet to be announced.
