Week 7: AAC Men's Soccer Players of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - Michael Garrihy of Tennessee Wesleyan and Callum Edwards of Union are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Soccer Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
This is the seventh edition of the awards for the 2023 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Oct. 16.
AAC Defensive Player of the Week
Michael Garrihy - Tennessee Wesleyan - Senior - Lisdoonvarna, Ireland
- Made 5 saves as went 1-0 on the week.
- Had 7 saves in a 1-0 win at Columbia International.
- Helped shutout CIU who had not been held scoreless all season.
- This is his third weekly honor of the season.
AAC Offensive Player of the Week
Callum Edwards - Union - Freshman - Preston, England
- Netted 4 goals as Union went 2-0 the week.
- Scored twice in a 6-2 win over Montreat.
- Added 2 more goals in a 6-1 win at Columbia.
- This is his second weekly honor of the season.
