Week 5: AAC Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week

WALESKA, Ga. - Michael Toohey of Cumberlands and Jacob Long of Life are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Lacrosse Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, the league announced Monday.

This is the fifth edition of the weekly honors for the 2024 season. The next set of awards will be announced on April 1.

AAC Defensive Player of the Week

Michael Toohey - Cumberlands - Senior - Johns Creek, Ga.

  • Helped Cumberlands to a 2-0 record on the week.
  • Made 14 saves and had a 77.8 save percentage on the week.
  • Recorded 11 saves in a 17-3 at Columbia (Mo.).
  • Had 3 saves against Point in nearly 40 minutes of action.
  • This is his second weekly award this season.

AAC Offensive Player of the Week

Jacob Long - Long - Junior - Pullman, Wash.

  • Tallied 12 goals and 2 assists in helping Life go 2-0 on the week.
  • Posted a career-high 8 goals in a 21-9 win over Montreat.
  • Had 3 groundballs and caused 2 turnovers.
  • This is his second weekly award this season.
