AAC Dominates NAIA Men's Lacrosse Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) placed five teams in the NAIA Men's Lacrosse Coaches' Top 10 Poll, announced by the national office on Wednesday.

In all, six AAC teams received votes.

Reinhardt sits atop the poll at No. 1 with all eight first-place votes and 98 voting points. Keiser checks in at No. 2 with 82 voting points, while Webber International is third with 86 points. Cumberlands landed at No. 5 with 75 voting points, and SCAD Savannah entered the top 10 at No. 10 with 44 voting points.

Meanwhile, Tennessee Wesleyan received 10 voting points to land five spots outside the top 10.

Poll Methodology

  • The rating committee is comprised of eight raters – two raters per conference/group.
  • Each conference/group produces a conference rating from which raters will use to compile their national ballot. Only teams represented on the conference rating are eligible for the national ballot.
  • Each rater will submit a top 15 ballot, which will be used to produce the Top 10 national rating and a list of other teams receiving votes.
  • The rating was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, Continental Athletic Conference (Independents), and Unaffiliated Groups.
  • The Top 10 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 15 points for each first-place vote, 14 for second place, and so on through the list.
  • The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team's ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.
  • Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered "receiving votes."
