AAC Men's Basketball Awards Announced

WALESKA, Ga. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced the 2023-24 Men's Basketball All-AAC Team and Awards on Tuesday.

Follie Bogan of Milligan is the Player of the Year and the Newcomer of the Year. Markelo Sullivan of Union is the Defensive of the Year, Dallas Carbaugh of Johnson is the Freshman of the Year, and Tim Curry of Union is the Coach of the Year.

The awards were voted on and selected by the men's basketball coaches of the AAC.

Bogan led the AAC in scoring, averaging 23.5 points per game. He also averaged 6.7 rebounds per game and dished out 96 assists on the year.

Sullivan finished second in the league in rebounding as he pulled down 9.1 rebounds per game. He led the AAC in steals with 1.9 per game and 52 total to go along with 12 blocks. Sullivan also averaged 17.1 points per game.

Carbaugh averaged 11.5 points per game for Johnson while also averaging 4.9 rebounds per game. He also had 44 assists, 24 steals, and six blocks.

Curry led Union to a 21-3 conference record en route to winning the regular-season championship.

Twelve players earned a spot on the All-AAC First Team with 12 making the second team. There are 10 members of both the All-Freshmen and All-Defensive Teams. Dozens of players made the grade to earn a spot on the All-Academic Team, while 12 were named to the Champions of Character Team.
