2020-21 Men's Basketball All-Conference Team Announced
KINGSPORT, Tenn. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) released the 2020-21 All-AAC Men's Basketball Team and awards, and Markelle Turner of Union is the Player of the Year.
The awards were voted on by the men's basketball coaches in the league.
The other individual award winners include Khyle Washington of Kentucky Christian as the Defensive Player of the Year, Noah Dunn of Montreat as the Freshman of the Year, Kristian Collins of Reinhardt as the Newcomer of the Year, and Jake Deer of Point as the Coach of the Year.
Turner leads the AAC in scoring, averaging 27.737 points per game. The sophomore guard ranks second in the NAIA in scoring per game, second in 3-pointers made per game (4.0), sixth in total scoring (527 points), seventh in 3-pointers made (76), and 39th in free-throw percentage (83.7 percent).
