Reinhardt's Herbert, Allen Earn NAIA Preseason All-American Honors
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The NAIA has announced the 17-player Preseason Baseball All-America Team, selected annually by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association (NAIA-BCA) All-America Committee. For more information on NAIA Baseball, click here.
Four starting pitchers are included as well as one relief pitcher while the list included four infielders in addition to two behind the dish. The outfield features four players and the last two spots go to a utility infield player and a designated hitter.
This year's Preseason All-America Team, comprised of all seniors, includes five First-Team All-Americans from the 2024 season while five others were selected as Second-Team honorees last year. Charlie Muniz of Cumberlands (Ky.) is the only player to appear on last season's preseason list, doing so for the third consecutive year.
Georgia Gwinnett has the most student-athletes on this list, including second basemen Braxton Meguiar, shortstop Jackson Cobb, and starting pitcher Ben Harris. Reinhardt (Ga.) has the second most with starting pitcher Andrew Herbert and relief pitcher Brett Allen.
Herbert is a two-time All-American for the Eagles, while Allen is looking to get his first this year after a strong 2024 season for Reinhardt. Herbert will be Reinhardt's ace once again, and he will have a fresh start on the season coming in healthy, unlike last season. Allen came out of nowhere for the Eagles last season and was one of the main catalysts that pushed the team to their best record and postseason performance as a collegiate program.
With 19 total conferences sponsoring baseball in the NAIA, 12 are represented by student-athletes on the list. The Continental Athletic Conference features three, while two each are from the Appalachian, Cascade, and Heart of America. Single honorees are out of the American Midwest, Crossroads, Great Plains, Kansas Collegiate, Mid-South, North Star, Red River, and The Sun.
