AUSTIN, Texas – Milligan University baseball player Logan Hullette has been announced as the first Academic All-American in program history as he earned Second Team Academic All-America honors at catcher from the College Sports Communicators on Wednesday.
Hullette graduated with a 4.0 in business in April after a 2023 season that saw him earn All-Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) First Team honors. He led the Buffs in batting with a .381 average, totaled 18 extra-base hits, and drove in 36 runs. Hullette maintained a pair of double-digit hitting streaks in 2023 and served as Milligan's leadoff batter the second half of the season.
Hullette memorably posted a 10-10 week with a pair of five-hit games in wins over Pikeville and Johnson (Tenn.). The former Walters State and Radford transfer hit .482 with an on-base percentage of .554 in Milligan victories this spring.
Hullette is the 22nd Academic All-American in Milligan University history and is the sixth male student-athlete to collect the prestigious honor.
The College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. To be eligible for the award, voted on by Sports Information Directors, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative 3.30 GPA or higher and must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institution. Nominees must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games and be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic and academic credentials.
