73 Represent AAC as NAIA Scholar Athletes in Baseball
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) honors nearly 1,100 student-athletes in announcing the 2022-23 Daktronics NAIA Baseball Scholar-Athletes from 150 schools across the country. The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) placed 70 student-athletes on the list.
Bryan not only led the AAC with 19 honorees, but it also tied two other schools - Indiana Tech, and Siena Heights (Mich.), for the lead nationally. Milligan added 14 to the list, while Truett McConnell landed 12. Point had nine honorees, and Columbia International and Montreat each had eight. Tennessee Wesleyan checked in with three honorees.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
