Updated Fan Attendance Protocols from around the AAC
ASHEVILLE, N.C. - We are in the midst of the winter sports season in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) with the spring sports season on the horizon, and here is the latest information regarding fan/spectator protocols for each member institution. Fans are encouraged to know these protocols prior to making plans to attend any games at AAC member institutions.
The AAC has developed a comprehensive list of guidelines and procedures to assist in a safe return to play in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Decisions related to allowing spectators are entirely up to the host school and must comply with state and local health authority mandates.

AAC SPECTATOR POLICIES BY SCHOOL (as of Jan. 24, 2022):
Spectators at indoor events are restricted to Bluefield College fans only. BU student-athletes are permitted two (2) guests each who will be
Outdoor spectators for home and visiting teams are encouraged to attend and socially distance. All fans are encouraged to wear masks.
Indoor events - Fans must complete an electronic screening checklist and masking required. (No external fans for January events)
Outdoor events- No restrictions and no masks required.
Indoor events are open to the public at 100 percent capacity. Masks are encouraged as is social distancing. Masks are required to enter the athletic training room.

Columbia International University (S.C.)
All fans are welcomed.
Indoor events - fans are allowed and must wear a mask.
Outside events - fans are allowed, and masks are recommended.
All indoor sports competitors will be required to wear masks inside the facility when not on the court competing.
Both home and visiting fans are encouraged to attend. All spectators will be required to wear masks when indoors.
Outdoor sport competitors are not required to wear masks. Outdoor sport spectators are not required to wear masks and are encouraged to social distance.
Indoor events - fans are allowed to attend if wearing a mask.

Fans are strongly encouraged to wear masks at indoor events. Fans are strongly encouraged to wear masks if social distancing is not possible at outdoor events. There are no limitations regarding who and how many can attend events.
Spectators from both home and visiting teams are allowed to attend, and tickets can be purchased online at montreatcavaliers.com/tickets. All spectators and workers are required to wear a face covering over their mouth and nose while inside McAlister Gymnasium. Players and coaches on the sideline are encouraged to wear masks; however, they are not required to do so. Masks are not required for spectators or visiting teams for outdoor sporting events.
As of Jan. 3, fan attendance is still permitted for indoor athletic events on Point's campus. Facial coverings are required for all spectators in attendance.
Fans should verify spectator attendance policies if planning on attending games at other institutions.

Truett McConnell University (Ga.)
The following COVID—19-related decisions have been made with guidance from the Georgia Department of Public Health and Governor Kemp's Office. This information is fluid and is subject to change at the discretion of TMU's leadership. Please refer to tmbears.com for current policies regarding athletics at TMU and COVID-19.
Cleaning/Sanitizing: TMU's custodial department cleans and sanitizes buildings and gathering locations thoroughly each day. TMU will continue to perform appropriate sanitization across all areas of campus. TMU's custodial staff performs focused sanitization using an electrostatic sprayer, with hospital-grade disinfectant. Locker rooms will be disinfected and sanitized prior to the visiting team's arrival.
Visiting Teams: Prior to departure we strongly suggest teams conduct temperature screening to help mitigate potential issues during travel. Should a member of the visiting travel party develop symptoms prior to or during the competition that person will be directed to the local urgent care for further evaluation. Upon arrival to the TMU Campus all members of the visiting travel party will be required to pass a temperature screen with a threshold limit of 100.4 degrees. TMU Athletics will be providing a barrier between athletes and fans. Athletes will have a separate entrance and exit for indoor sports to ensure there will be no interaction with fans or students. The Sports Medicine department will be providing sealed, sanitized water coolers for each team. Use of the Athletic Training room will not be permitted; however, an Athletic Trainer will be available for any pregame taping needs a minimum of 1 hour prior to game time.
Fan Policy: TMU athletics will allow fans at all indoor and outdoor athletic events on campus. Mask will be encouraged but not required. TMU asks that all fans practice social distancing. Fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to all outdoor events in order to social distance. At no point in time will fans be permitted in the competition area at any venue. All TMU Athletic venues will not be available until 1 hour prior to competition start. By entering TMUs campus, fans are confirming that they are not experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 identified by the CDC and have not been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days.
Game Days Stats: Stats will be provided digitally at half-time for the sports of M/W Soccer, Lacrosse and M/W Basketball. Immediately following the conclusion of the contest, stats will be provided digitally for the sports of M/W Soccer, M/W Basketball, M/W Volleyball, Softball, Baseball, and Lacrosse..
Fans – home and visiting – are permitted to attend all events on the Union campus. Masks are required for all indoor events and for all outdoor events where social distancing cannot be maintained.
Fans are allowed at all events, masks for non-vaccinated (based on honor system.)
Outdoor events - Masks are recommended, and there are no restrictions on who can attend.
Masks are required for indoor events. No restrictions for outdoor events.
