Alessandra Tavoloni burst onto the scene and scorched the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) women's soccer record books during her four seasons at Union College (now Union Commonwealth University). She tallied 37 goals and 17 assists during her freshman campaign in 2002, setting the conference records for goals and points (91) in a single season - marks still standing today.
Tavoloni led Union to the NAIA national semifinal round in 2002, earning her NAIA All-American First Team accolades. And that was only the beginning for Tavoloni.
The Limeria, Brazil native concluded her collegiate career with 105 goals, 56 assists, and 266 points - all conference records. Tavoloni owns three of the top four goal-scoring seasons in AAC history and averaged 14 assists per season. She also holds the records for most goals in a game (6) and most points in a game (15 - 6 goals, 3 assists).
Tavoloni collected numerous accolades during her collegiate career, including:
- NAIA All-American First Team (2002)
- NAIA All-American Second Team (2003)
- NAIA All-American Honorable Mention (2004, 2005)
- Four-time All-AAC First Team (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005)
- Two-time AAC Player of the Year (2003 and 2005)
- 2003 AAC Golden Boot
